Privacy Policy

Ongil ("we", "us", or "the developer") makes How Math Works ("the App"), a math-concepts learning app. We respect your privacy and have prepared this Privacy Policy in accordance with applicable laws.
The App has no sign-up or login of its own and does not collect information that directly identifies you, such as your name, email address, or phone number. However, the following information is processed to save and sync your learning progress, analyze the service, and serve ads.
Stored & synced on your device (learning data)
Your learning progress (completed lesson steps and concept completion) and your language preference are stored and synced through:
- iOS: Apple iCloud (Key-Value Store) — stored under your own Apple ID / account.
- Android: Google Backup — stored under your own Google account.
- This requires no sign-up or login by the App itself.
- This data is not stored on the developer's own servers, and the developer does not access it.
- As long as you use the same Apple/Google account, your learning data is restored automatically when you reinstall the App or switch to a new device.
Solution photos saved in the App's "My Notes" feature are stored only locally on your device and are not uploaded to iCloud. On Android they may be included as part of the device's general Google Backup, not app-specific cloud sync.
Information we collect and use
- Firebase Analytics: collects anonymous usage statistics (screen views, feature usage, etc.) to help improve the App. It does not directly identify you.
- Google AdMob ads: displays ads within the App. Personalized ads are shown only within the scope of your consent under iOS App Tracking Transparency (ATT) and Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP).
- In-app purchase "Remove Ads": payment is processed through the Apple App Store or Google Play. The App itself does not store any payment data.
- Local notifications: learning reminders and similar notifications are shown only if you enable them yourself.

Children's Privacy
The App is not directed to children under 13, and beyond the anonymous and device-local mechanisms described above, we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we learn that we have collected a child's personal information, we will delete it without delay.
